The Blessings of Reiki: Dear Ginger and Chris,
First of all I wanted to tell you both how much I enjoyed the Reiki classes this weekend. The energy was powerful and uplifting.
As you know, after receiving the Reiki Level III attunement, I was on my way home when I received an emergency call from my husband.
We live on 3 acres outside of Houston and we had a fire going in our fire pit Saturday night. The entire family was gathering at our house Sunday to have dinner and enjoy the day after my class. My grandson Hunter was playing near the fire pit and was standing on the bricks encompassing it. He apparently lost his balance and fell into the pit, with the embers from the prior night still very hot.
911 was called and the paramedics stated he had severe third degree burns; because he is only 7 and risked going into shock, and with the ambulance not being equipped to administer the powerful pain meds necessary for this type burn, Life Flight was called to pick him up. He was taken to John Sealy in Galveston and then transferred to Shiners’ burn unit after he was stabilized.
After receiving the disheartening news, I immediately put my new Reiki skills to work. I also called you both right away and asked for you to send Reiki to my grandson. I could feel the energy at work and ironically under the circumstances I remained very calm and focused. I picked up my mother who attended the Reiki I and II class Saturday. We drove with Angels at almost 100 miles per hour to get to the hospital.
The Reiki stone I received from you both was immediately put to work and upon arriving at the hospital we immediately began administering Reiki, along with laying the stone on my grandsons shoulder. He instantly calmed and said his arm felt better. We continued to work on him as much as possible. There was extreme heat in my hands as I hovered them over the burns, almost to the point of me having to withdraw them. This was due to the Reiki, not his burns.
He was transferred after a couple of hours to Shiners’, where we immediately began the Reiki treatments again. This time there was just sensations of tingling in my hands. I knew then there had been change in his condition. By the time the Burn Doctors came in to scrub the arm and assess the injuries the burns were no longer as severe. His burns were downgraded to Second degree, with only a small silver dollar size spot on his elbow area that remained a minor third degree burn that they will watch over the coming few days.
He was able to go home last night, and will make regular visits to care for the burns, which I have confidence will heal very quickly. The poor baby was on a trial ride with us last weekend and broke his left arm, and is in a cast. Now the right arm with the burns.
I told his mother last night I was going to teach her Reiki and Hunter asked me what that was. I explained to him and he immediately wanted to learn Reiki also. When I said he would be able to heal with his hands, he put his poor encumbered hands out and said “like this?” There was light around his hands. So I will be teaching him very soon.
I thank God, Both of You, the angels, Reiki Guides and all others who came to our aid Sunday. I felt very strongly you asked others to join in this healing of my grandson. God Bless you and the work you do, and the gift you deliver to your Reiki students. I was so very grateful for taking the classes this weekend. Who would have known I would have to use these skills within minutes.
As a side; my mother’s parents were killed in a car accident on the very same day, 53 years ago, also a Sunday. She was naturally shaken over this and the coincidence of the timing. Along with Hunters healing, I think this provided some healing for her on that day as well. Taking some of the pain of this date and making something good of it. My daughter took Hunter to the doctor today for his burns. It has been just shy of 2 weeks now since the incident. We were informed today that no skin grafts will be needed, and most of the bandaging is able to come off. It seems the wounds are healing much faster than normal and they feel there will be little if any scarring. He is such a trooper!
Reiki most definitely played a major part in his healing of these severed burns. By all rights, the healing normally takes at least 3 weeks to get to this point. And healing without scarring is almost unheard of given the extent of the burns.
Thank you so very much and everyone who prayed for Hunter and sent Reiki to heal him.

Chris and Ginger,
It has been awhile since we spoke, but I did want to update you on my grandson who fell into our fire pit.
All of his treatments are over, compression wraps have come off, there is absolutely NO scarring, and his arm is just slightly pink from the burns.
What a miracle! Going from 3rd degree burns to little more than slightly pink skin in less than 2 months.
I wanted once again to thank you both and the other practitioners who sent Reiki to Hunter and promoted his miraculous healing. I am forever grateful for taking the Reiki classes from you when I did. Brenda L., Tx |

form of natural touch healing.
What is Reiki healing touch?
Reiki healing touch influences a person's physical or emotional health. It can also be called spiritual or energy healing, or distant healing.
In the 1970s, nurses developed a specific form of healing touch called therapeutic touch to provide a more holistic (viewing the body and mind as a whole, not as individual components), compassionate approach to healing. Many nursing schools in the United States teach therapeutic touch, and it is often used in conventional medical settings (for example, before and after surgery) to help comfort patients.
Central to Reiki healing touch is the belief that a vital energy or life force flows freely through space and sustains all living organisms. In a healthy person, this energy is thought to flow in and out of the body in a balanced way. It is believed that illness results when the energy flow is out of balance.
Practitioners of Reiki use their hands in an attempt to change a person's energy flow and restore health.
Like other complementary medicines, Reiki starts with the idea that people are naturally healthy. The way people live and think may disturb their natural energy, and they may become ill. The aim of Reiki is to focus (or channel) healing energy to restore natural health.
Reiki is an ancient method of natural healing with no religious affiliation. Using the flow of Ki (or Chi, the Chinese language equivalent) Reiki harmonizes and balances the body, mind and spirit back to it’s natural state of calmness health and well-being.
Chris & Ginger Pennell are Master/Teachers in traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho which is the original energy channeled by Dr. Mikao Usui and given the name "Reiki" by him. It is a system of profound healing energy that can be used on self and for others whether they're present or distant.
Usui Reiki is generally taught in three levels, Reiki I, Reiki II and the Reiki III Master/Teacher level. At each level you will receive an attunement. This attunement is an initiation ritual which opens you to become a channel for the Reiki energy. Once you receive your attunement you will have the ability to give healing to people, pets, plants, situations and even objects such as computers or cars, it's that simple. Once attuned you will continue to have this ability for the rest of your life. With each level the energy you channel deepens.
NOTE: We include FREE on-going advice and support to all of our students after they take our courses, whenever they need it. All current and former students are also encouraged to join our Reiki forum board to receive additional support, advice and help.

Meditative Reiki Healing Circles
Feel the Energy!
Join Spirit Quest Healing for our ongoing Free Healing Circles. We're hosting
the circles at our CenterPoint office the 2nd Wedensday of each month from
7-9:30 pm.
No need to RSVP. Just come and enjoy! We'll begin with a soothing meditation to help you release stress and bring up your natural healing energy. Group healing can be a powerful experience in a loving and supportive atmosphere that helps bring forth personal healing and spiritual growth. Our Reiki Circles are open to anyone at any time - new to Reiki or a practitioner. For those new to Reiki it's a great way to find out if you're interested in learning more about touch healing. For Reiki practitioners, it's a wonderful time to finally receive healing yourself from others. There's no fee. Love Offerings are accepted.

We've begun the very fun tradition of scheduling Reiki Retreats. Unless
specified differently, these retreats are for anyone interested in Reiki,
whether you are new to Reiki or not. The focus of Reiki Retreats are to "get
away from it all" for a while, rest, relax and enjoy laughter, fun, healing and
spiritual growth.
We've held two Labor Day Weekend retreats, one in 2006 and again in 2007 at Namaste Retreat up in the Texas Hill Country. They were special weekends filled full of friendship and healing laughter.
