Spirit Quest's now traditional Reiki retreat was a great success again this year!

This year we had the opportunity to grow our friendships to a deeper and more meaningful level. Not always easy work, but definitely worth the effort and so rewarding!

For the 2nd year in a row, we chose Namaste in the beautiful Texas Hill Country as our destination of choice.

We made arrangements with Becky Zook, the retreat owner, to arrive with our group on Saturday about noon on Labor Day weekend. We'd stay till Monday.

There were nine of us scheduled to go. Chris, Ginger, Ronnie, Susan, Suzy, Laura, Ricardo, Donna and Darlene. Unfortunately, Ricardo was scheduled to work at the last minute and was unable to attend this year's retreat. We missed him terribly and hope that he'll be able to come again with us next year.

Namaste was just as beautiful as we remembered it...

And even more fun... this year the river was high and running behind the house! :)

Here's some pics of Suzie traversing the river as we send Reiki that she doesn't fall in and we have to save her!

Go, Suzie! Go!!

She made it!!!

The pool looks as inviting as it did last year! Ahhh!

And this year we did hot tub, too!! Talk about relaxing...

We go inside and begin settling in.

Chris and I had our old room, the Coral room.

This year we had beautiful Namaste '07 shirts thanks to Ms. Ronnie. They were so awesome! Here's Laura, Spides and Ronnie wearing theirs.

And of course there was again WAYYY too much delicious food, thanks to Ms. Laura who made a Costco run before she got there and bought all our provisions for us. Thank you Ms. Laura!!!

Naturally, during those yummy meals, Spidey regaled us with her unusual and I'm sure very truthful "Spidey Tales."

That evening we relaxed and visited.

Even though our Reiki buddy Bryan couldn't come with us this year, we included his Namaste '07 shirt in all our activities. Here's Bryan's shirt relaxing between Darlene and Chris.

And here's Bryan's shirt relaxing on the deck....

And here's Bryan's shirt having to go home after our fun weekend. You can tell he's pretty dejected about having to leave, his sleeves are drooping :(

On Saturday we gathered for an early morning Reiki circle. Ahhhh... the energy felt sooo good!

Here's the ever health conscious Ronnie as she did a few sit ups in between sessions...

Suzie looks like she's enjoying the wonderful Reiki energy....

And then she returned the favor with loving energy of her own.

And here's Spidey asking Chris if he remembered where she put her Reiki.

Try as he might, Chris couldn't remember where she might have put it.

Spidey even accused us all of hiding it from her...

But all ended well. Spidey remembered where she put her Reiki and she was able to continue the circle with unconditional love... until the fantastic movie presentation later that evening.

After the circle we had a surprise. To get ready for the upcoming traditional Reiki hike, everyone was presented with a pole and markers in which to make their very own Animal Totem walking sticks!

Spidey won the contest for most inspirational decoration of animal totem walking sticks.

And then...

It was time to head out. We set our sights for the trail behind the houses and eventually for the lake beyond. Unfortunately, we never made it to the lake, but we had fun trying to get there!

As a consolation prize for not finding the hiking trail, Spidey regaled us with her Monkey hat. We were happy she saved that for AFTER the walk thru the neighborhood and not DURING!

Did you guess? Spiders seemed to be the animal theme of the weekend. This big beauty set up her web home close to one of the bedroom doors outside. She's a Zipper Spider.

Spiders are the Great Creators. Spider helps us to ask ourselves how we can create the changes we want in our own lives .. one strand of silk at a time. As Spider weaves her web, so we weave our realities. When Spider appears in your life, think about taking the time to write down your thoughts, telling your own story. The Chinese welcome the Spider descending on its thread as a bringer of joys from heaven.
